This was quite a cute story. I started reading it on my cell phone in the mall food court and almost decided to read the rest of it it rather than shop. The idea of a baby born as an old man which gets younger rather than older is definitely an interesting one.
What I found to be extremely curious was that Fitzgerald decided to set the beginning of the story prior to slave emancipation. Thus, when he sees his child for the first time, he wishes the child wasn't born white so that he could sell the child at the slave auction he'd just passed on his way to the hospital. I bet that part won't be in the movie!
In fact, I'm thinking this will be a better movie than book. I'm looking forward to seeing it. :)
