I can see why Bren liked this story so much now and recommended it to me. It's exactly the type of story he'd tell -- one that borders on possible truth but is hard to believe in its entirety. Most stories do have some grain of truth to them. But how could there possibly be enough room in a lifeboat for a man, a tiger, a hyena, an orangutan, and a zebra? And how could you not know that a tiger was on board the lifeboat with you for a couple of days? Could there really be such a thing as a carnivorous island? In the end, you're still left wondering if this is truly the story of a man shipwrecked in the Pacific island or if this is merely the highly doctored story he created for himself during those long days, weeks, and months at sea.
